Leeds Playhouse
We are a place to experience world-class theatre that is pioneering, invigorating and relevant. A place where people and communities come together to tell and share stories – a creative hub for the city and beyond.
In 2014, we became the first ever Theatre of Sanctuary.
This means we are committed to being a place of safety, hospitality and support for refugees and People Seeking Asylum.
We work closely with refugee organisations and with volunteers from refugees and People Seeking Asylum in Leeds to offer a range of creative and practical projects, and we welcome those who join us to our Playhouse community.

Asmarina
This project is for women only who are refugees or seeking asylum. We have women who come along to sing (you do not need to be a professional singer), alongside this we host a play session for the women with children to play, read and sing songs with creative play experts. We provide hot drinks, biscuits, toast, and fruit.
