At Caritas we work alongside people from across Greater Manchester and Lancashire who are experiencing poverty, disadvantage, discrimination and homelessness, helping them to transform their lives with dignity.
We offer a range of services to support people from a refugee background, whether to settle them in the UK or to help them to become embedded in their local community. These range from english classes, wellbeing and mentoring programmes as well as supporting with homelessness.

Caritas - Aspire Education
Our Aspire Education team helps refugees and other migrants fulfil their career and education aspirations.
We do this through English lessons, mentoring, and wellbeing support, as well as offering one-to-one guidance on how to access university, college and careers.
The team also runs a range of activity sessions, including gardening, cooking clubs and outings.
This Project runs from both the Lalley Centre and Cornerstone.

Caritas - Cornerstone Day Centre
Cornerstone (run by Caritas Diocese of Salford) provides a day centre (including a soup kitchen) with the dual aim to help homeless people and prevent homelessness.
They aim to enable people to improve their well being through providing services which meet immediate basic needs (inc. access to showers), promote mental health and well being, enable people to access health and other support services and to take up education, training, volunteering opportunities and employment.

Caritas Diocese of Salford - Energy Advice Service
Our Energy Advice Service aims to help people save money on their energy bills and improve the efficiency of their consumption too.
Our specialist service includes:
• LED bulbs and draught excluders.
• The efficiency and appropriate use of heating and hot water appliances and systems and the functions of the controls
• Domestic fuel cost data using the domestic heat cost (Sutherland) tables
• How to record gas and electricity consumption and work out costs

Caritas - Salford - Red Door
Red Door is our day centre for people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in Bury.
We provide a warm welcome to anyone over 18 and provide holistic support including helping with housing, finance/benefits and health issues, with a big focus on well being. We also provide free nutritious meals and a warm hub where people can socialise and receive support.
The team, as well as delivering direct housing outcomes, also enables people to improve their well being through services that meet immediate basic needs, promote mental health and well being, enable people to access healthcare and other support services and to take up education, training, volunteering opportunities and employment – all as a means of sustaining positive housing outcomes.

Caritas - Salford - The Lalley Centre - Collyhurst
The centre, community pantry and allotment in Collyhurst supports people on low incomes with practical needs in health and wellbeing, housing, family life and employment.
Staff and volunteers assist people who are unemployed or receiving benefits, families facing or experiencing homelessness, those struggling with addictions, mental health issues or conditions that prevent them from working.
The community allotment offers a space for local people to learn green skills and socialise in a peaceful outdoor setting. The organic food grown supplies our community pantry at the centre.
