Ladies Befriending Session
Weekly ladies-only befriending sessions offering a safe, culturally sensitive space for underserved and racialised women to connect, relax and receive support.
These informal group sessions reduce isolation and improve wellbeing, while helping women, many of whom are first-generation migrants, economically inactive, or non-English speakers to gain confidence, build friendships and learn about UK services.
Local, public and voluntary services regularly attend to offer information, host workshops and build trust with communities that often feel excluded from mainstream provision.
The sessions are delivered by trusted staff and volunteers with lived experience and can include signposting, light refreshments, social activities and one-to-one advice and support when needed. It is great toddler friendly space to make friends with like minded individuals and also we have opportunities to volunteer to gain experience, confidence and occupy idle time.
