The main support we give to asylum seekers and new refugees is through our weekly asylum hub on Tuesdays from 12noon at the Unity Centre.

At the hub we have multi lingual workers available, as well as immigration and health advisers.

Service includes:


• Advice and information
• A meal
• Free ESOL
• Often projects that we have running at the time

How to access:

There is no need to book – asylum seekers or refugees can just turn up on the day. We also provide multi lingual support workers at Trinity Church asylum drop in at Ellesmere Port on Thursday mornings.

We are also running regular courses to support wellbeing and mental health for asylum seekers and refugees, contact us to find out more.

English not your first language? Do you need to brush up your English language skills or want to gain a qualification? We are specialists in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) and offer a wide range of classes to suit your needs.

We have small class sizes and friendly tutors so you won’t feel overwhelmed.

English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) includes:

• Qualified ESOL tutors
• Small class sizes
• All abilities catered for
• Both accredited and non accredited classes
• One to one support


How to access:

We offer free drop-in classes for all in Chester, Northwich, Ellesmere Port, Crewe, Macclesfield.

These are usually 1.5-2 hour classes per week. Students do not have to attend every week, but is beneficial for their language development if they do. Anyone can attend who lives in the Council borough, with no need for testing.
