Stockport ESOL Advice Service

To join ESOL courses in Stockport, you need to do an assessment with the Stockport ESOL Advice Service.

Do you speak another language and need to improve your English? Learning English can help you get a job, get a better job, get a qualification, be more independent in everyday life or support your children at school.

There are many opportunities to learn or just practise English in Stockport, in learning centres, colleges and community organisations. You could also join an informal conversation group.

Service includes:


• Stockport ESOL Advice Service can help you find the right learning opportunity.

• At an ESOL Advice session, the ESOL Coordinator or a qualified teacher will check your speaking, listening, reading and writing skills and also find out about your needs and goals.

• You could be offered a learning opportunity straight away or you will go on a waiting list for an English language course that is right for you.

• If you have to wait for a place on a course, you will be contacted as soon as the place becomes available.

• You only need one assessment for any of the ESOL classes in Stockport.

If you live in Stockport and would like to join an ESOL class, you need to give us some personal information and do a short test, so we can help find the right class for you.
