WHAG - Wigan - Domestic Abuse Service
WHAG offers the Wigan Domestic abuse service, which offers communal safe accommodation, resettlement, and support.
Our Wigan safe accommodation is delivered across two different locations, furnished, and decorated to a high-quality standard. The accommodation is made up of self-contained flats each one has a bedroom, bathroom, sitting room and a small kitchen/dining area.
During their time within the service, individuals will receive person centred specialist support from trained Domestic abuse workers. Together in collaboration they will agree SMART support plans, focusing on key goals and empowering targets throughout their journey.
WHAG staff are on hand 24 hours a day to provide both practical and emotional support.
We offer counselling to adults and play therapy for the children, within our services.
We offer several programmes of support including accredited Domestic abuse training programmes, accessible to those within safe accommodation and to members of the local community.
How to access:
Referrals can be made by any agencies supporting any individual of family experiencing domestic abuse; self-referrals are also accepted and if additional support is required to complete, please contact the service directly to arrange.
These referrals can be made by completing the referral from: https://whag.info/our-projects/wigan-domestic-abuse/ and emailing it to WiganDAS@whag.info.
