Lifeshare - Respite Breakfast Project
Lifeshare delivers non-judgemental, open access and free services to anyone experiencing homelessness or economic hardship. We are the sole provider of morning weekend provisions in the city centre.
The Weekend Respite Breakfast Project runs 52 weekends a year; on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 7-9am.
This service includes:
• Homeless residents attending the Respite Project can access a hot breakfast (usually a full English) three mornings a week.
• In addition to the hot breakfast, guests can obtain takeaway meals and access cereal and our fresh fruit bar, as well as help themselves to additional food collected from Fair Share and Tesco.
• Guests also have access to showers (with towels and toiletries provided)
• Access to the free clothes store, which is operated in a person-centred and dignity-preserving manner.
• Guests can also access additional services either through referrals or through sector services that "pop in."
This weekend service is delivered by a rotating team of volunteers (a minimum of 45 volunteers per weekend) who strive to provide respite care in a co-production model, involving collaboration between volunteers and those experiencing homelessness.
