The Family Refugee Support Project (FRSP) - Regional Holistic Therapy

The Family Refugee Support Project and Freedom from Torture will deliver a programme of holistic therapy for adult asylum seekers with acute complex post-traumatic stress disorder.

Both providers will take a holistic approach in their support, deliver care in an individuals’ first language or with the support of an experienced interpreter that will remain with the individual throughout their support.

Therapy will take place remotely unless the person receiving care and the therapist are geographical closely located. There will be minimal expectation for people to travel for care and where remote care is delivered this will be supported with data bundles.

Remote and face-to-face support will follow safe-space guidance to ensure that individuals are able to access support with privacy and in comfort and safety.

Referral process:

Individuals referred for therapy must have an active asylum claim at the point of referral, this can include an appeal.

Ahead of referral, referrers are asked to take all possible measures to meet an individual’s broader practical, social, housing and immediate support needs such as accommodation concerns and GP access.
