FikaWelie Caribbean and African Mental Health CIC- Medicine Support Service
Helping You Feel Confident and Supported with Your Medication
At FikaWelie Caribbean and African Mental Health CIC, we recognise that taking medication for a mental health condition can sometimes feel confusing or overwhelming.
Our Medicine Support Service is designed specifically for people diagnosed with Severe Mental Illness (SMI), helping you understand your prescribed medicines and feel more confident in managing them.
Our Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) provides clear, practical guidance on:
• Safe storage of medicines to prevent loss or spoilage
• How and when to dispose of medicines you no longer need
• What your medicines do and why they are important
• The risks of taking too much or too little
• When and how to take your medicines, e.g. with food or water
• How to monitor whether your medicines are working effectively
We want to ensure that everyone with SMI gets the best possible results from their treatment while staying safe. Our team is always ready to listen, answer questions, and support you in feeling more in control of your medication and your well-being.
