Bristol Refugee Festival

Bristol Refugee Festival coordinates a collaborative year-round programme of arts, cultural and educational events, bringing together communities from across Bristol and beyond to connect, share and celebrate. We aim to celebrate the contribution that refugees and asylum seekers make to the city, create a better understanding of why people seek sanctuary, help overcome misconceptions and promote successful community cohesion.

Community Engagement Programme

Last updated 26/11/24

Our Community engagement programme is a 3-year project to develop activities across the city throughout the year using the annual Festival as a focal point for bringing communities together in celebration of their diversity. We are currently working in a number of areas within Bristol, but would like to encourage more communities to get involved. We can offer support, advice and training to communities. We work with Community Ambassadors who are representatives of local refugee communities. If you are a community hub or group please get in touch with our engagement team to get involved!

Bristol Refugee Festival

Festival Programme

Last updated 26/11/24

The Bristol Refugee Festival 2024 programme ran from 8th – 23rd June. The theme for the 2024 Festival is 'Home'. We believe that home is a place you should feel safe, welcome and valued. It is curated in collaboration with a variety of individuals, organisations and community groups. We particularly welcome those that have consulted with refugees and asylum seekers from the conception to delivery of the proposed activity or event.
